My Mom is in town for the weekend and she forgot all her tops for the trip and so she needed to buy a couple of things to wear while she is town. Turns out it was my lucky day. Check out the gorgeous dress she bought for me at Dillards. It was on sale. This is what I’ll where to L&A’s wedding in June. I’ll be wearing it minus the belt. It just looks better on me without it.

So Idol has found a new way to humiliate it’s contestants. Tonight on the results show, we learned the new rule that was highly anticipated (not) and touted by Seacrest to completely change the way we vote. Introducing the new “Save” vote. If you happen to be one of the unlucky America votes off, you might get a second chance if the judges decide to save your ass. The judges can save each contestant one time during the season. Do you think either of the voted off contestants felt the love tonight? Hmmm…let’s see. First we want you to sing again while we dangle the ‘you might get saved carrot’ over your head.
But alas, you still suck and you’re going home.

For the past month, I’ve been doing tons of research on DSLR cameras and I’ve finally settled on the one I want. I haven’t purchased it yet so I’ll hold off on posting a photo until it’s in my hot little hands but I did buy a camera bag today. Yes, I realize it is a bit weird to have the bag before the camera – a bit ‘the cart before the horse’ so to speak – but I found a great deal on craigslist.
It retails for $90 and I got for $50! Whoo hoo. I’m ready to go.
As soon as I get a camera.

My heart is smiling. We are going to Mexico in April for a much needed vacation.
Hopefully we can find something like this to chill out in while on the beach. If anyone has been recently, send me your tips of places to go, things to do.
Despite spending a week in the Yucatan almost ten years ago we’ve never actually been to to Cancun unless you count the time we spent in the airport. Normally I would not choose Cancun because we prefer less touristy localtions but we wanted to go some where different and this seemed like an easy choice. Besides the water is so pretty in this part of Mexico. We are on the adventurous side so we’ll definitely rent a car and go exploring. I’m sure we’ll find something to love about Cancun.
There is nothing quite like travel to give you something to look forward to.

Hoping to take on some serious house remodeling in the not so distant future (fingers crossed), I’m reviving my collection of photo ideas for consideration. I’m in love with walls of windows and would kill for something like this for our own home. I am digging the floor color too. I want to refinish our floors in a lighter shade similar to the above photo. And don’t get me started on the gray sofas. If I can ever replace the ancient sage green couch we have now, I think we’ll go gray. (I never know if it is gray or grey and welcome the clarification.) It reminds me of a tasteful men’s suit. It’s perfect.
